Mews lead singer talks about being Denmarks only big rockband - and why they are one bassplayer short

I remember when we released our first record, which was completely impossible to release abroad. Of course it isn't any more now, now there is made way. That is because there are some bands who have performed, but also because the different labels have learned some of their history. And I think maybe the reason why we succeeded better than many others, is that it's a mixture of a lot of drive. We have always played together since we were very young. So we have also managed to create a very unique expression. I think those are the two things - Drive, a desire to make something surprising and at the same time catchy, that speaks to both heart and mind.

Our bass player became a father here last year and chose to stop the band because he thought it was too much - traveling around and he thought it was too much when you had a child. And we can surely understand. We parted on good terms.
We have always been 4 so now when we suddenly are 3 creates some other elements. It perhaps makes a little more concentrated picture of what the 3 of us will do. We aim to not repeat ourselves too much. We have no desire to repeat the same album again, we would like to do something different.

It is difficult to say how the new record will be, we have begun to write but we write in a slightly different way now because we have one less member in the band. It is clearly different, but it will also be some more of the same. I don't know. It's hard to say. I think it will be very varied, very dynamic.
