I'm so so so so so sorry I haven't updated for two months. But I'll try to start updating more. I don't really think you can handle another one of my apologies, so I'll just get to the story. :)

Chapter 40: Some Things Cant Be Avoided

Mary POV

When you lay on your bed listening to the same Jonas Brothers CD over and over and over you start to get annoyed with their music. Of course it's only temporary, but it made me think about how much time I had when I wasn't with Nick. AKA, a lot. I mean, I just got home from school and I have nothing to do. Cuz, figures, we get all the work the first week of school, and now all we have is a worksheet in math I was able to finish on the bus. It honestly annoyed me. The computers not an option, I don't feel like staring at a screen and have no real need to chat with one of my three fav gal pals, with my new friends, or with a Jonas.

I stroked Dewfrost a few times. That tended to make me think. After a minute or two, I decided to go digging through my closet. With wide eyes I pulled out my guitar.

Mary: Dude! I still have this thing?!

It had been a whole year since I used her. Yes, my guitar has a gender. Don't be hatin'. The last time I used her was like a month after I got her. What was I doing? Oh, right. I was attempting to play Umbrella, I believe. That failed. I ran my fingers over the strings gently, then hopped up and grabbed my necklace that forever carried my pick. I slid it off and grinned. The musical passion I never really tried to experience washed over me, as well as the knowledge I'd forgotten. I began strumming a G chord and words started flowing out of my mouth.

There's a picture on my phone...

Slowly a song formed, and by the time I'd finished, I grinned. I had to tell Kate, Sophia, and Shannon.

Nick POV

Joe gripped my shoulders and stared at me with this intensity that was, quite honestly, scarring me. For the past, like, 5 minutes, he'd been telling me not to wimp out if she makes a move on me, to not get controlled, and to inform her I only want to be friends. I brushed him off. He was making a bigger deal out of this then I was!

Nick: Don't worry, man. I can handle this. It's no problem! I mean, I don't know what happened last time I guess I was just still really messed up. But I'll be fine this time.
Joe: OK, well... Good luck I guess.
Nick: *smiles calmly* Thank you Joe. *checks watch* Well, time to go pick up the girls. *glances back up, Joe's eyes are glazed over* Hellooo? Joeee? *waves hand in front of Joe's eyes*
Joe: *blinks rapidly* Err, sorry about that. Sophia phase out again.
Nick: Are you gonna at least try to see if Veronica is worth a shot?
Joe: *nods* Shes really pretty, too. *smiles* Anyways, let's go.

We hopped into the car and headed to Veronica's house first. She was aware it was a double date to the movies, and was actually really relieved to hear that, according to Joe. Well, I mean, of course. It's always awkward on first dates if you're not in a group. So here's the deal. We're gonna get food at the food court of the mall, and then go to the theater on the third level of the building. Simple. I guess well get tickets, and then go eat. If Addalyn suggests splitting up and then sitting in the back I think I'm gonna throw up. We pick then both up, and I almost groaned when I realized that Addalyn would be sitting next to me during the car ride while Veronica and Joe made small talk in the front of the cars.
