Story: Sangeeta (Pauli) and Mrinal(Neel) are a young couple from lower middle class group who lives in a rented house. They don't have any furniture in their house. Because of Sangeeta's insistence Mrinal bought a second hand "Sofa Cum Bed" and problem starts! Mrinal's friends and relatives start coming for chit chat. The landlord thinks that Mrinal is hiding his original income and demands a raise in house rent. The chaos reaches the crescendo when Sangeeta's friend Nandini (played by Kousani) requests something odd!!
Finally Sangeeta and Mrinal decides their earlier life was easier and they get rid of that Sofa Cum bed.

The scene here is that final scene when Nandini comes and gives Sangeeta a couple ticket of a movie so that she can have some quality time with her husband. Nandini live in a house with lot of family members and very unhappy because they can't have a time where they can be alone. Nandini actually forces Sangeeta out of her own home and when Mrinal returns they are stranded in the street.

The film is a comedy but gives a serious insight in the life of lower middle class people. Their problems, which may be fun to us, but is very serious to them and sometimes very pathetic.
