My interpretation was that of a parent-child relationship.
The child reacts to parental abuse in a violent/emphatic way, is subsequently left alone or abandoned and left floating in a repressed and bewildered emotional state.
Writing a creative short story that expresses an under-recognized aspect of life. In this case i'm trying to express that we tend to become what we see in others.
Knowing people find value in what I'm doing helps me because it gives me confidence. They're saying, "keep doing what you're doing" and I feel stronger with their support. But simply saying you don't like it does NOT help me. The only thing you might accomplish is making me feel bad about what I'm trying to achieve. So no, it's not the same.
I hope you don't get stopped at the Canadian border for being a subversive like the Motor Home Diaries crew did. Well, I mostly hope you don't. If they won't let you back in, you may have to move to Keene, NH.
I like your story!:D you should do more of these:)
