Students at Idaho State University held a protest rally in support of university faculty and against ISU president Arthur Vailas and his administration, after Vailas and the Idaho State Board of Education last week dissolved the Faculty Senate. After disagreements dating back to the middle of 2010 between Vailas and the Faculty Senate, the Senate held a no confidence vote on Vailas in February 2011. Shortly after, Vailas and the Republican-controll SBOE took the unprecidented action of dissolving the Senate, claiming they would reconstitute a new one in April.
