Professional hoof trimmer Alun Garton showing dairy farmers how to trim cows feet at AgriScot near Edinburgh international Airport. AgriScot is a event aimed at dairy farmers - Similar to world dairy expo in the US except smaller. Well known Scottish dairy farmer Alex Brown is holding the microphone. The demo lasted about 30 mins so i post more video's later.

Very interesting - never trimmed a cows feet!  Always useful info. as could be adapted to use on other livestock.

high protien feed will make the hoof softer so lamnes is more of a risk. when a cow calves the composition of the hoof changer quite a lot, it just takes it out of the cow in most ways. so a high protien cake or what ever you might feed them. does mess their feet up.

@ShawnCFarm no high protien diet doesn't induce footrot.... that is a bacterial infection

high protein, with high carbohydrate( sugar causes laminitis, at the time pre and pro of parturition

Its intresting to watch a cow being trimed and compare it to triming horses feet. I hope part two has a close up of what he is doing 5/5 thanks for the video.
