Southwest Customers can now pay for inflight beverage purchases using their credit or debit card. Southwest Airlines will continue to accept drink coupons (from a coupon book or from Business Select) for beverages as well.

This initiative will make transactions easier for our Customers, but it also improves processes for our Provisioning and Inflight Employees too. Implementing the handheld devices will allow for credit card purchases, but they also will streamline the inventory processes for Provisioning, and they'll eliminate the need for Flight Attendants to do a liquor drop.

The initiative is sponsored by the Rapid Rewards credit card from Chase, so Customers will see small ads on the clipboards onboard as well as on southwest.com.

  • People are bitching about SWA not taking expired or beige coupons after sending info out for over year and half! It's 5 bucks cheap bastards if you can't afforded that then why you flying? Lastly, I would whether pay $5 then $50 for checked bags which are still free. Unreal how people are over a silly coupon stop being cheap bastards other airlines charge $7 to $10 bucks!

  • YEA!! That is good it was 12 dollars on stupid delta

  • @MikePotterofficial $5 a flight

  • will you guys charge for WiFi?

  • @s1ickxnatedogg Debit cards work the same as credit cards.

That's why there's a signature strip on the back of the card.
