Robert Hunter, wrote this song in 1970 in London in the same afternoon he wrote "Brokedown Palace" and "To Lay Me Down" (reputedly also drinking an entire bottle of retsina in the process). The song debuted August 18, 1970 at Fillmore West in San Francisco.
Like many folk songs, "Ripple" addresses itself as a song and an instrument of the performers' emotional expression. Several lines throughout the song echo the 23rd Psalm of the Bible.
Trip hard and good, motherfuckers.

Stop arguing EVERYBODY is equally as worthless as the next guy. Stop taking things so seriously because if you think about it we are truly not shit. Our planet is not even a spec of dust in comparisin too everything. You suck, He sucks, I suck, Everybody sucks. Deal with it. Find your own sense of ignorant bliss, smile, and carry on with your day.

We like to be happy. Happiness is the meaning of life imo. When it all comes down to it. If you're happy, nothing else matters. It's a shame happiness is so hard to find though. Music is a great way to remind us of what matters.

It's not, really. I could flood this message with amazing music. But none of it is mainstream because the radio is no longer the medium to spread good music.

During my first acid trip, I was alone in my room. I typed in trippy pictures on my phone and this was on of the first to appear. Needless to say, it blew my fucking mind. I can still visualize the colors weaving in and out of each other, and the music flowing through my veins, my bed spread rippling like water. It was a beautiful night.
