Last night, wow that was really something. Kissing him made me feel alive; for once in my life I enjoyed kissing a guy. But when he started to lay me down on the blanket I stiffened, memories of my dad flooded my mind and I could feel it all rushing back. The forcing, the threatening, the crying all of it came back....and I just couldn't. I couldn't go further with Joe as badly as I wanted to. Ive never been so physically attracted to someone in my life he was completely different, I felt a smile creep across my face then slowly fade away when I remembered the other half of the night. When he told me the truth about his mom I started to cry. I felt so bad and wondered what it would feel like to think you killed your own parent. Even though it wasn't his fault he feels like it is. He must be so depressed thinking about it.
"Demi!" I heard Selena shout at me across the lunch table
I snapped out of my thoughts and turned to look at her "huh?"
"I asked where you went last night, we were looking everywhere" she told me
"Oh I--" I didn't know if I should tell them I left with Joe or not....I didn't really want to have to deal with their thousands of questions so I just told her I left early cause I was tired.
"You missed out big time Dems!" Miley told me
"Yeah, the cops came to break up a fight that was happening outside and we all had to book it out of the house" Selena said
I sighed and listened to the rest of their stories, who they hooked up with, who hooked up with who, who cheated on whom, who got drunk, who dance on what table.... I started to zone them out as I stared across the cafeteria when I noticed him walk in. He was dressed in his usual, tight jeans and tight shirt, looking really good. I watched him walk over to the line up to grab some food and then proceed to sit at an empty table. I was kinda upset that he didn't sit here, I mean we were friends right. but I figured he needed his space since he had a lot to deal with.
***TWO WEEKS LATER***

"Selena I told you there is no way you can get an A in that class after failing the last three tests" I told her very matter of fact-ly. We were all sitting in the cafeteria eating our lunch. Over the past few weeks Joe and I have gotten closer; it was nice to talk to him. I would usually just sneak into his room and talk or he would sneak out and wed hang out at the lake. We hadn't kissed since the night he told me about his mom..
"Hey can I sit here?"
I looked up and saw Joe standing there with a tray of food in his hands looking at me.
"Of course" I said with a smile as he sat across from me setting his tray down. I could practically hear them all squealing with excitement and I could feel myself mentally rolling my eyes. I turned to look back at my plate and soon Miley broke the silence.
"Whats up Joe?" She asked.
"Nothing much" he mumbled grabbing a bite of his sandwich.
"You are so great at football!" Selena gushed
"Shes right! I hear you could become captain!" Taylor said sliding her tray over and squeezing next to Joe.
They all continued to talk about random things but I tuned them out. I looked at Joe and found him staring at me; he smiled lightly then looked back down. Strange as it may seem I felt a thousand butterflies soar in my stomach when he did that. WEIRD. It was just a smile.....was I falling for him???
