  • The first guy interviewed looks way too young to be a ww2 veteran. Then again was 18 back then.

  • He looks great, he is my Grandfather :) He is a cool guy! I can't wait to see "The Pacific" on HBO!!! He also wrote "Red Blood Black Sand". An amazing man!!!

  • just seen a show titled Return to Iwo Jima, on the military channel. I seen something that made me double take. A vintage footage of the action showed a Marine artillary piece firing on suribachi. the gunner was dressed up like george friggan washington! white wig, triangle style hat fitted over his helmet, and an ankle length coat on. fucker was puttin rounds down range just as fast as the crew could load. had to back track it to make sure my eyes werent playing ticks on me.

  • People don't realize how hard it is for these guys to tell these stories. Imagine that during this there are dead Americans everywhere you look. I think it's on purpose that Chuck Tatum doesn't mention this. You can tell he's trying to not cry while speaking.

  • something wrong with his hands. they move uncontrollably.

  • My dad was a combat engineer in the 5th Marine Division and was wounded on Iwo Jima. He passed away in 1992. Iwo Jima Marines are revered heroes in the Marines. God bless them.

  • semper fi marine

  • wow chuck looks very young that really surprises me! he looks like he is about 62 years old!! most ww2 vets no offense have memory loss because of health problems of age, results of war and more and god bless them too for serving.

  • Poor Chuck :(

You can just hear the horror in his voice. It's so sad. His story is amazing though.

  • he looks really young wow

  • awesome guy
