  • Gold was my favorite song growing up R.I.P.

  • A beautiful tribute. I was lucky enough to spend a day with John in Wash D.C. museum hopping when I was 16. It was an incredible day as he taught me how to look at art and appreciate it. He was an artist, a poet, a wonderful performer, and a true visionary. I hope future generations hear his words. My 11 year old daughter will gladly choose John over Miley Cyrus.

  • Nice tribute. John's first few solo albums after KT broke up are ALL among the very best of the 20th century. Anyone have a copy of "Truckee River"?

  • I saw him at the old Golden Bear in Huntington Beach a long time ago...Great show...I have listened to his music on many cross-country road trips....

  • for what it's worth, i think "santa barbara" by john stewart is as beautiful a song as ever i've heard

  • I went to the Hungry I tribute at the SF Performing Arts Library in 2007. I had been to several John Stewart concerts over the years but on this night I got to talk to John and Buffy. It was a memorable event for me. John's music had been a big part of my life. A little bit of me died when John passed. Rest in peace John Stewart.

  • @meadia60 You have to be strong and become one yourself.

  • I am so sad to hear of Johns passing, I have loved his music for so long.

    Peace to you John

    see you soon

  • Thanks for posting a terrific song. I had a chance to meet John after he performed at Chuck's Cellar in Los Altos, Calif., in 1978. He was a kind, funny and down-to-earth guy. Rest in peace, John. You will be remembered always.

  • I was a personal friend to Nick Reynolds and through our relationship was able to meet and spend time with John and Buffy..

I am in Japan now and thankful for your post

  • God bless the old KT- Dave , Nick, Bob and John Stewart-The 'old "old farts fromthe early days of the Kingston Trio who inspired Bobby Dylan , The Beatles and The Roliing Stones, ( Circa 1960-2). Even these greats would acknowledge that John Stewart was aa great inspiration who could turn music into gold!

  • The song inspired me to visit Santa Barbara recently. I could see how it ended up in a song.
