I have never commented on another Youtuber's conversation. But today I bought that compilation, and oddly enough I am currently living in Japan. I found it at a second hand store here in town. Such a good record!

That's right! It was a 1977 Phonogram Records compilation album called New Wave including the Dead Boys, Ramones, Talking Heads, Patti Smith, New York Dolls, The Runaways, The Damned, The Bootown Rats, Richard Hell and the Void-Oids, Flamin' Groovies, Skyhooks and Little Bob Story. I still have it!

I had that album; it was a British import. First time I heard the Ramones, The Runaways, the Boomtown Rats, and the first time I heard the New York Dolls outside of their appearance on The Midnight Special.

In 1978, I saw Talking Heads live in The Susquehanna Room (later the Mandella Room) at Binghamton University. The opening act was Richard Belzer doing standup, and "Building on Fire" was the standout performance of the night, infinitely better than the recorded version
