Battle V in my chronicles. The Roman army didn't seem to be very strong but on the battlefield they proved that one should never underestimate the enemy. I learned my lesson.

I charged the enemy general with my cavalry and killed him before his allies could give him any help. I then engaged their main force with my spearmen (in shieldwall formation) and flanked with my mercenaries. I kept my general close to the main line to keep my troop's morale high. Unfortunately I was not able to use his bodyguards because Romans had many spear units and I did not want to risk his life.

  • awesome battle, look forward to seeing more.

  • Thanks =) I'll try to make them more often =)

  • you are a good commander, you should be playing with the romans when you compare the use of tactics

  • Thank you. I'm thinking about the ERE as my next chronicle so perhaps I'll be playing as the Romans ^^

  • That battle was an epic one I think !

  • I think I might be addicted to Barbarian Invasion :D but seriously, right now I'm playing as the Franks, and so far I've wiped out the Western Romans, and taken over pretty much all of Europe (with the exception of Constantinople and one other city, but I forget the name of it), and I'll soon be taking over the Eastern Empire....FASTER WORLD DOMEENASHUN!

  • what army did you use?

  • How do you assign the formations?

  • omg lol i felt really bad for the 2 little guys running at teh end and i dont know y i felt bad

  • If you want to use your general against spearmen, charge the spearmen in the flank where they cannont turn and fight as well as they can in the front.

Do not charge untill the enemy unit is shaken or warse, and break quickly, as this also reduce the risk for your general.

  • I fought on the battefield before with the saxons but i was on the ridge and was facing the franks!
