I'm sorry, I have comment; does that knuckle mill sort out flesh from rubber? I saw that operator reach in the hopper at-least three times to grab a tire. You just do not do that without drawing back a bloody stump.

I was the one operating the shredder in the video, the hopper on this machine is almost 3ft tall and my hands were nowhere near the knives. Also there was another person within one foot of the machines operator panel that could stop it at any time.

You can forget about doing this in winter .The tires would be hard as rock and it would jam that machine for sure. Great little outfit but winter would not be good on that machine.

@lewandlo We have a machine in Alpena Michigan which runs tires year round. Frozen tire actually shred easier. There is less friction because the rubber does not stretch as much. This makes the shearing action of the knives work more efficiently.

I like the idea of using tires as home building material. However most municipal building codes and property owners associations will not allow this type of home to be built.

@Ukatech Yeah i kinda agree with ya,,having seen what happens when someone gets dragged into those things,,,,(not this particular machine) (large shredders in general) Makes ya think REAL hard about using a stick with a hook on it,,,,,if ya lose the stick,,,,no big issue,,,,lose an arm,oh yeah well ya got problems, Get dragged in,,,,in a few seconds ya wont have ANYTHING to worry about,,,Its just the thought of watching and feeling yourself being minced before it all ends that really bugs me,???

hay i have some questions for you is the steel been takin out of these tires or are they just put on and cut up and if so how would you take the steel out after
