  • Being a Tax Paying Voting Citizen of shawnee, I don't believe the entertainment structure should be chosen by the elderly Gambling their lives away and making choices for us 25 to 35 year olds, they're children having babies before they turn 15. So if you want to call into play about who or what our degrees of entertainment focus on what your kids are doing, more to the point whom they are doing, your at these meeting making our choices for us while your kids date, date rape, do drugs, drink,

  • hell im a 26 year old single father of 2 that goes to work and school and evey now and then i like to go listen to live bands but i have to go all the way to okc to do it and just wish that these people would let us younger people have our fun to i mean they have theres theres what like 4 casinos all within 5 miles of us i mean all the old people have is church and casinos its time for us to have something also i shawnee does suk so bad get out of the 1950's this would be a good investment

  • I think Shawnee mentality is stuck in the 1950's. Downtown shawnee is an eyesore. I play in a rock band, I have toured all over texas for more than 20 years. I can count on one hand how many fights broke out. People who have convenced themself that rock music brings rif-raff. well I got news for you. It doesnt, being closed minded about the true facts does. too many people have a preconcieved idea about what music does to a person. It is the same mentality of the 1950's. SAD

  • @diknyoshawty for one thing no one can stop the casinos because its tribal land..

  • Im so freaking tired of the old people and the damn churches running Shawnee

  • ya, of course it is a bunch of 75 year olds that dont want us young wipper snappers to have fun. We need to go do things like play horse-shoes or bingo right ! :)

  • Shawnee Sucks!!! i should know I'm Stuck here in Hillbilly Hell

  • Ugh, look at all those abandoned buildings. The city would rather pay $300,000 to make improvements for a property that may or may not hold a Chick-Fil-A. Maybe this guy should have just build up by the interstate? What a religious crusade this turned into, when it shouldn't have ever been that way.

  • @Sindrake Here here. I don't ever want anymore whining about "Why do the children vandalize our property?" or "Why are all of those children making a racket?" or "What's wrong with what I did back in my day?". 1. They're bored 2. They're bored, and 3. It bores us all. It's good to know that Shawnee is run by an oligarchy of "concerned" citizens. In my opinion, if churches across the state want us to follow their guidelines, then churches should pay taxes. There's a reason they're separate.

  • Wow I honestly cant believe a bar Idea was shot down in Shawnee. Sad there is a Casino on every side of Shawnee within 5 miles but a rock bar got tuned dow. Lets face is Shawnee is far from a wholsome area its filled with gangs drug addicts and homosexuals

  • Blah, blah , blah!!! Shawnee was a boring ass city, that's why I moved to OKC. Bunch of old ass boring BS. Why don't Shawnee open up ANOTHER sonic, braums, or taco bell.
