Sorry but I feel I must clarify something here. In Africa, those would have been crocodiles and yes, they are FAR more aggressive. Alligators are extremely placid by comparison and most do have a fear of humans unless they become habituated from people feeding them. Then they start to associate humans with food and it can become a dangerous situation. Occasionally a small child or dog will be attacked but attacks on adults are very rare. They generally don't see us as food.

alligators have never had a fear of humans, when I was in Africa the only place to wash clothes was the river and it was so common that ppl would be attacked and killed there that it was just a natural way of life. They see us as a food source, not a threat
