I agree with you on your comments. I used to sail on her when I was working in the RAF in Stornoway back in 1991/1992 but never in seas like shown in this vid. Sailings usually got cancelled if sea got too rough. The Minch which she used to cross often suffered from rough weather. If I remeber right, was P****d at time as it was 31 Dec 91 there was a bad storm over the Island and the Suilven couldn't dock in Stornoway. Passengers had to see in the new year on board ship anchered in outer harbour
Yes, but she was bought by Strait Shipping for the Wellington/Picton route and used on freight service. They only recently opened a passenger service on that route. Suilven is now sailing in the Fiji islands with the same name. There used to be lots of folk sick in the bar of her when she was with CalMac - but for different reasons than here!

It did the ullapool to stornoway crossing. It carried cars and trucks and when i was on it there were more than 36 people in the bar.
