george duke was a musician's musician. he was very much respected in the biz. we never listened to what "critics" said about black music. we knew what we liked and when we heard it, we bought it.

George is such an accomplished musician as well as a business man. He takes the time out to tell young musicians the ins and outs of the business, especially when it comes to tricky contracts. I Have learned a lot from George. Some people don't realize that accomplished musicians hire George to arrange for them such as Burt Bacharach, and many more. So what does that tell you? It tells me he's a national treasure that hasn't received his due from the mass general public. Go George. U the man.
