This was played at my father's funeral - he loved classical music and this summed up his life - the despair and the joy....the ups and downs...

Belle immagini, l'ho caricato anch'io nella versione di Herbert von Karajan. Gran bella musica!!!!!

was this the piece that did it? It's so amazingly haunting - a feeling-tone all its own.

Kiitos!

Fantastic music - conjures up so many wonderful images...these things cannot really be expressed in words and are best left to the music....lovely video.

Read a bit about him, he sounds amazing. Through periods of deep depression and solitude to blinding glory and triumph. The swans of his youth lol.

it was "I love a Mystery" I don't remember when, but the theme haunted me. It has a feeling tone unlike anything else-- that 1st few measures, so unresolved, and sad. . . Can't say what it feels like, only exists in music.

@donaldrose You sayed it !!!! That`s what loving music, is all about !!!

I was about 4 or 5 years old in Winnipeg Canada and there was a Sunday afternoon music program introduced with this. Something went Twang! in my little brain and I became a music lover and performer for the next 64 years.
I can't express in words what this conjures in my mind but it is my personal, special, wonderful world. Thank you Jean Sibelius from the depths of my musical soul.
