A train of Breda 4000-series cars departs Forest Glen station.

This movie was taken with my new Vivitar 6200w camera. The picture quality is better than those taken before, though the sound is low due to the camera's waterproof design. Note how the lighting appears to change from purple to blue to pink before going to the station's actual lighting color. This is due to the camera's attempt to determine the lighting at Forest Glen station.

  • How deep you think it is

  • @Alfonzia18 Forest Glen is 20 stories below ground. So in other words, about 200 feet or so beneath Georgia Avenue.

  • Why is the station so dark?

  • WMATA underground stations are generally darker than similar stations in other rapid transit systems.

  • Indeed they will. That's why I'm surprised Metro's changed out the carpets and the seats on those cars to put the newer color scheme on them. The Rohrs I can understand - they've got eight years left on them before retirement. The 4000's have only three years left before rehab. Seems a waste of money, since they're probably going to replace the interior during rehab, but who knows. The Rohrs didn't get a new interior during their rehab, after all...
