This Roland R-8 cost just £30 as a standard unit, it is now a very unique machine and much more collectable and usufull than the standard unit. You have a very shallow opinion of this unit, there are 10's of thousands of standard R-8m's but this is the only one in the world that can now create these sounds. One point to think about is that when the switches are off then it still works just as the manufacturers intended. Hope that gives you more of an argument to get involved with. Arron (S-CAT)
