Shiver | Coldplay cover

Shiver is one of my favorite songs. It first grabbed my attention a year or two back when I was living in Eugene, OR. I would turn up the music real loud on the stereo and sing along in the living room. I kind of dreamed of finding a karaoke bar with Shiver on it's roster so I could have a go at it and see how it came out. But I never actually went to a karaoke bar to investigate. Instead I sat down and figured out how to play it on the guitar and that was that.

Strangely, some time later I was thumbing through a coffee table picture book about the century in music and the page that talked about Coldplay alluded to Shiver being pretty much a paint-by-numbers riff off of Jeff Buckley, who happens to be my favorite guy in music. I had never connected those dots before and still don't know that I see the connection. But maybe there's a good reason I like this song so much, eh?
