I'm NOT Dead! (+Contest Winners)

Ok, so I know I haven't been able to upload any videos in the last two months-- but I'm NOT Dead.. and this video proves it! Even so, I've been haunted by not releasing a video, so I knew I had to get this out :-)

One of the things that I needed to do was to respond to the people who entered the contest.. sorry for being so long overdue. I will definitely be hosting more contests and giveaways in the future and promise it won't take so long to get back to you.

I watched through all of the video responses, and it seems that viewer anumsadventures had the most paper cranes which she counted in her video. A total of 226 cranes in all!

Viewer shadowdarkrai123 was the person in second place with 205 in all. He did a great job setting up the cranes nice and neat.. and it looked like he worked really hard to make all of them... he was in his PJs in the video :-P

One of the responses I felt was really original was by viewer Kninjagirl101, who was the first to set up the paper cranes as a Japanese flag and write little messages to Japan on some of the cranes like: "1000 cranes for Japan," "Will of Fire -- Help Japan!". She folded 86 cranes in all.

The final two responses were ones I picked out of a hat to try to make it fair for everyone who entered to get a shot at being featured in the video. When I picked the names out, I got geniusbob3 and Speedcubingvideos -- coincidentally, they were the last two who entered the contest.

Viewer geniusbob3 made 131 cranes in all, although he accidentally counted 136 on the video. He did a great job setting up the cranes and also set them up as a Japanese crane very nicely.

The last video response was by Speedcubing videos. He folded 83 total cranes and set them up in groups of 5 all over his room. I liked how he also had a few in his desk drawer, which he pulled out in order to count them! :-)

Great job to everyone who submitted videos, I really enjoyed watching them and was sure to comment and rate every single one. You all did a great job.

The Paper Cranes for Japan facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/PaperCranesForJapan) was able to gather over 1 million cranes and pay out $1,000,000 dollars to the Japan relief efforts--an incredible amount!

I know that everyone wants to see more origami tutorials and other things, and I will definitely upload some soon. I've been working on the magic ball-- just need to get better at it before I can think about teaching it.

Also, I recently got a new iPhone4 and decided to tie it to my kite and film-- it came out really awesome! I am thinking of creating a separate channel (RobsPhone) where I just do vlog and update videos.. we'll see.
