@ACDC653 Why? So you can have a massive infestation of rodents, then try to "fix" that too with poison, and then have an excuse to cry because birth defects, cancer, and illnesses increase as a result? Think about the big picture before trying to argue that any species should be wiped out. Rattlesnakes are around for a reason and being afraid of them is pointless. Your average walk down the street is far more dangerous and menacing. Leave nature alone and divert your attentions to helping us.

@idn Hey i live in texas im not some crazy redneck but i think we should kill every last rattlesnake and if you dont then how about you come down here and go cuddle with a big fat western diamondback.

Are you seriously trying to pull the tree hugger card at the same time you're claiming a rattlesnake is more dangerous than a bullet? The fearful don't seem to prioritize well these days.
How ironic that your Mr. Suburban Sprawl is giving advice on land conservation. "Learn to swim", buddy.
P.S.
At least you have a nice grill on the back porch.

that rattler probably died. those inexperienced animal control people mean well i guess, but that snakes neck is just screwed. sad.
Perhaps he's concerned because the snake was here long before the virus that is us human beings decided to spread all over North America and therefore has every bit as much of a right to exist peacefully without some metal crawls choking the life out of it?
That's a cruel way to handle a snake. Imagine yourself being picked up by the neck with a log fork compared to being scooped up gently with an end loader. Think a bit about coexisting while you're at it.

Look fella' this was an upgrade from a bullet. If you live in North America maybe you should consider taking a swim in the ocean so we can save more land and reduce damage on the hole in the ozone layer. I fear that folks like yourself will injure my trees with the chains you use to attach yourself to them and with all of that hot air I fear for my children with the metling ice caps. Blah blah blah...

Actually it was alive and well. The animal control guy was a whole lot more careful that I could have ever been and did a great service to my family and to the city of Austin. Odd that you'd be worried about a snake versus the health and safety of a human - no less being my pregnant wife.
