When the flats are dry you start catching them.I have caught 1or2 a year for my whole life.We caught dozens that day.They are a delicate fish.We were wrecking them up bad with the trebles.We went to single hooks and then moved on in search of bass.

@thewiffenpoof .I find them at the end of the winter dry season when the flats dry out they are forced into the canals.
