Ancient Futures by Tunde Jegede

Led by Tunde Jegede, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Ancient Futures brings together ancient traditions with digital technology - exploring old traditions in a new light.

This is a unique collaboration between the African Classical Music Ensemble and multi-media visual artist Sunara Begum. Featuring Juldeh Camara, the extraordinary African violin player and Maya Jobarteh, the first woman within the Griot tradition to play the Kora.

The music of Ancient Futures is drawn from two worlds, that of the desert nomads and Malian Royal Court Music traditions, and the imagery used in this production gives sense of these worlds both culturally and historically.
