I had a cell phone video which I had compressed with Handbrake. Since it was compressed I could no longer use my cell phone video editor to trim it. It was still too long to email. I downloaded Lightworks and I spent an hour and watched all your videos. I still could not figure out how to trim a video. I then open Quicktime and it had an option to trim video. It was fast and easy. Thanks for putting these up even though they were too advanced and complicated for my quick job.

Hey DV!
Thanks for making the effort of creating this tutorial serie.
I have a question regarding trimming : how do you simply resize a clip in the timeline?
When doing it, I get an unexpected behaviour : the video is being shifted and the clip extends as solid black ...

@dvstudiosproductions DOH! Thanks again!

@zamperi2010 yeah, click advanced on the timeline and then slow the speed down using the percentages. will make a tutorial this weekend!

@zamperi2010 Not really, no. They'd have to be composited in as .png images with transparent backgrounds, but this program is not necessarily meant for that.

Man am in all your tutorials, and i can say you have given me a head start i wasn't expecting. Am new in video editing, but i can say am already good. Am working on learning animation, and i strictly do that on open source. Just finished or would i say mastered Blender partially, and Gimp, and now am looking forward to have this in my cart too. Thanks to you, i believe things wouldn't be that tough. Thumbs up to you, and thanks once more.
Great tutorials. Is it possible to use this software to edit my iPhone 4 movies, or am I just wasting my time? I uploaded a file and it said framerate not supported. Obviously I need to convert somehow, but I'm not sure. Thanks.

@coletrane342 it should work, what file format does the iphone shoot it? .MOV? In that case, just find out what the frame rate of the files are (right click-properties) and then create a new project with matching frame settings. Good luck
