FORBIDDEN GAMES Miriam Makeba - 1963 Though it's forbidden for my arms to hold you And though it's forbidden, my tears must have told you That I hold you secretly each time we meet In these forbidden games that I play Though it's forbidden in dim, quiet places To capture the rainbows my aching heart chases My bittersweet esctasies come to me here In these forbidden games that I play Everyone knows you belong to another Spinning your magic for her and no other Still, I've been content to be

I am not African, and still take pride in This great Lady, for her beliefs, her political views, and most of all for her voice.... She will surely be missed by anyone who knows her.........

Wonderful speiciall great singer.
She also sang Sun Rise Sun Set, from a Jewish film-
Fidler On The Roof.
Miriam is also the name of Moses sister, the Hebrew Prince
who was broght up in the Egyptian Court.

My mother gave me this very vinyl when I was about 7 (early or mid 70's) I still have it, and I still LOVE it....though today it's a bit scratched...fortunately someone good hearted uploaded it on you tube. Thank you.
And: Thank you Mama Africa
When I was little
Your songs put a hole in my soul
Not a piercing hole that would hurt
but a hole that I could watch through
You gave me a new perspective
