fantastic

@RobertSchilman Well I suppose that'd make more sense.

@mahler151 Well, these aren't. Webern wrote these pieces years before he started using twelve-tone rows. Around 1913, if I recall correctly.

This is a great piece, the part begining at 0:45 is very well done! It almost sounds as if it's not on a 12-tone row at all!

It certainly sounds a good deal like the opus 10 orchestral pieces. The thing is, I almost recognize a couple of them, and I wonder if that's simply because of the family resemblance with the op. 10 or because I've actually heard them before. In any case, many thanks for your quick response and thanks for posting these.

@mahler151 I'm sorry - I have no information at all about this recording.

Who are the performers on this recording? What year was the piece composed? Some background info would be welcome. Thanks.

1. I'm sorry I don't have any definitive information on this. When I was a student at Berklee College of Music they had reel-to-reel recordings in the library that students could check out. I found this work on one of those reels and taped it to cassette. I wrote down the composer and title, but that's all I have. Since then I have researched it (without definite results), but it seems that when Webern wrote his Orchestral Pieces, Op. 10, there were originally more than the five in Op. 10.

My best guess is that these pieces were composed at the same time as the Op. 10 pieces, but for whatever reason were rejected by Webern at that time, and discovered after his death. This may be incorrect, but it's my best guess.
