Federation Square was the scene for Lilis FREE Pop Up parade for LOreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF). In a show that celebrated Australian women, Lili put some of our most talented and sassy young women in the spotlight.
It girls are fast becoming the messengers of fashion trends to Australian women. Their directional sense of style is regularly reported on in the social pages of Australias most widely read magazines and newspapers.
More than a thousand onlookers, bunkered down for hours to get the best view of the show, some lovers of fashion, others there for a glimpse of Lilis Melbourne It girls who were to strut the catwalk with the real models.
Lilis It girls showcasing the playful lili designs were gorgeous Neighbours star Margot Robbie, jewellery designer Anna Lund (recently married to Getaways Jules Lund), singer Rebecca Jamieson (daughter of Assistant Police Commissioner Gary Jamieson), Kara Wheatley (daughter of Glenn and Gaynor Wheatley), singer Zoe Badwi (club anthem Release Me) and Lillian Romano (daughter of events powerhouse Judy Romano).
Designed with a young, carefree spirit in mind, lilis winter collection focuses on key trends from across the globe, taking you on a magical ride from Russian Folklore and 70s Babooshka, to rock chic, tailored retro and a touch of Circus!
Featuring highlighted prints, florals and paisleys, sequins, feathers and studded detailing; luxurious knits, tweed separates, military shapes and vintage Westwood inspired checks, there is something for every fashion savvy girl to covet.
The man behind the lili label, Danny Avidan, famously caused a stir at the 2007 Australian Fashion Week (AFW) with guerrilla-style parades around Sydney. Through LMFFs Pop Up show Lili continued to take a stance, reinforcing lili as the brand that is bringing fashion to the people.
