@Moparornocar74 maybe 80lb's at that. lifted em before.
-
@3star2nr yeah with a thousand dollars u can get a downpipe, full exhaust, intake, and boost controller and u will be at 300+ hp and even more torque. spend a grand on the d16 and see what u get.

The 1UZ weighs in at about 470 lbs compared to close to 500 lbs for naturally aspired 2JZ. Its mostly due to the 1UZ being an aluminum block vs 2JZ iron block. Most V8s will weigh more than an I6 of equal design, though it can vary depending on other factors like the angle of the V.
Not all I6's are iron block. BMW's current N52 series is aluminum/magnesium. Even their outgoing M52 was all-aluminum. Iron blocks have been phasing out of the auto industry due to the significant weight difference.

@ the I6's are still heafty weight wise, thats true, im sure if you get right down to factual figures, the difference may or may not be great, i cant really comment as i have yet to do a thorough comparison, but just at a glance, its assumed a v8 would be heavier, thats all i meant, wether thats directly true or not, im not sure so take my comment only as an assumption
i am one of the rare youtubers that will admit if i dont know or am not sure of something lol, either way supra ftw =)

@enigmaPL The I6's are iron block be it 5MGE or a 2JZ, I'm not sure about the 2JZ, but the 5M alloy head weighs almost 200lbs on top of that
-
@enigmaPL Weight more than what? I hope you don't mean a 2JZ, because it weighs significantly less than a 2JZ with or without stock transmission. A V8 is also shorter but wider than an Straight 6, so the weight is shifted further back.
So swapping in a motor that's lighter, improves weight distribution, has a much better power band, has more displacement which means more potential in the end doesn't seem that bad. Only downside is 1UZ stuff isn't as common as the 2JZ, you need connections.

@laurence265 but a v8 block, twin head quad cam, will weigh more of course, making a car more nose heavy, so depending on the application, it varries which some people choose
-
@3star2nr fuck off faggot, you're kind isn't wanted here.
