This trumpet tutorial lesson gives you a way to test your pedal tone ability. If you can pass this test, you already likely have good tone, rich core center, big bold and powerful sound in all registers and it is also likely you have some upper register as well!
If you are unable to pass this test, make a note of it and test yourself once a week until you can pass! YOU WILL PASS with enough correct practice!!!
This trumpet tutorial lesson also describes pedal tones in detail and the various tiers and levels of difficulty.
Finally, any study of trumpet pedal tones should also mention Claude Gordon. If you are not familiar with that name, get up to speed and there are many forums, facebook groups, websites, etc....where you can get more information on Claude Gordon's Teachings.

  • @mirosavickv Не знам, али могу да вам научити!

Мисли позитивно! In English this means that even if you don't know how to play pedal tones, you can still learn and I will teach you!

  • When you say double G do you mean 4 ledger lines or above 7 (I think) ledger lines? Always been confused about this.

  • @themeleed THERE IS LOW G BELOW THE STAFF ( 1 and 3 ), MIDDLE G 2ND LINE ( open ), HIGH G RIGHT ABOVE THE STAFF (open), DOUBLE G or DOUBLE HIGH G ( open and right above High C ) and finally Triple G which is right above Double High C and Triple G is open.

  • @yourbrassinstructor

Afraid you're incorrect- octaves start with C; therefore, it is just a high G that you are referencing. Doubles begin at DHC.

  • @lulzIridetheshortbus OCTAVES DON'T START AT C... BUT IF YOU ARE IGNORANT OF TRUMPET HIGH RANGE PEDAGOGY, YOU MIGHT INCORRECTLY THINK THAT.
