Photoshop tutorial. See more at http://www.photoshopmama.net.
Often when shooting in a studio, you have to step back or angle the camera for a full body shot; and the result often shows unwanted parts of the room beyond the
seamless backdrop. This tutorial shows you how to quickly extend that background in Photoshop!

Why back up 1 pixel? Often if you don't do this it will leave a very thin white line (background color) which you can only see if you are zoomed way in. So backing up the 1 pixel prevents that.

  • so the point of the 1px adjust is to prevent a 1px stretch at the inner most bound of the selection?

  • @Nallenbot The point of backing up 1 px is because if you don't and then zoom to 100% you will see a 1px line that won't be covered.

  • Yes this is nice, but why didn't you just use content-aware here?

  • @Jilvids Content Aware didn't exist in this version of Photoshop. This is an older video.

  • why do you back up 1 px? nice vid, tnx

  • @mrseverinasj Because if you zoom way in and don't do this there will be a tiny 1 px line and this covers it up.
