Rethinking Money and Capitalism

We need a theory that can account for the somewhat independent movement of financial affairs from the underlying industrial economy. To create that theory we need to go back and rethink our view of money itself, and to use our analysis to rethink Marxist theory—not necessarily on the centrality of economic crisis but on the basic dynamic of capital accumulation and capitalist development in a way that gives money a real role.
