Erm yeah...I've been watching acker's version and attempting to get a feel for his style. I think I managed the kazoo like quality in like the first 5 notes but then I lost it :P hopefully performing this in my last assembly next thursday.
Backing track was bought from Ameritz.co.uk for £1.50 =) I learnt the notes like ages ago. It's reasonably easy.
Please give me any tips you have on more vertuoso improvisation - I learnt the C D F C C bit at the begining of my improv from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7jZeXvpyZQ acker's performance in 1988 which is where I attempted to learn a few of his techniques such as switching octaves and adding Es to the tune and such.
Please don't rip me to shreds. :(

  • 1) In the same style (Jazz, Swing) you should try: Guest Spot 20 Jazz Greats Playalong for Clarinet, and in the same collection Classic Blues Playalong for clarinet, double CD compilation bumper, twenty of the Best-ever jazz standards in clarinet of Melody line arrangements with Specially Recorded backing tracks. There are also "Take The Lead" Clarinet Jazz on the CD: full backing tracks, and arranged Professionally Recorded and full demonstration recordings to help you

  • Hi, here is my funny tip ... But they play very nicely, I just blow into kazooo

  • Very, very nice. Keep at it.

  • NOT BAD AT ALL

  • GOOD! love it!

  • Very good. Try not to have too loose an embechore in the lower register. You only really need that up high but use plenty of vibrato. And also, the harder the reed the better. You should try to get thick reeds rather than regular.

    Well Done! :)

  • Excellent. You've put a lot of feeling into it. Brilliant!! Thumbs Up+++
