tango argentino written by "Luis Mario" (Maria Luisa Carnelli), Edgardo Donato and Roberto Zerillo

Azucena Maizani (1902 - 1970), "La ñata gaucha", was the supreme female tango singer in the 1930's. Her career covered the full range available to a tango artist: theatre, film, radio and records.

Life goes by:
This haunting tango is written under a male pseudonym by one of the few female lyricists of the period.
'If a bacán, a swell, promises to fix you up, go for it! The days and years pass by. Happiness is fleeting. Don't think about sorrow or virtue. Live your youth!'
A superb performance by Maizani, who made this song a hit in Spain when on tour there in 1931.
