Panelists focus on the work of advocacy groups in the US toward changing policy and practice to advance women's health and discuss efforts to promote women's health in urban environments and describe the strategies of successful initiatives. The panelists represent groups involved in 3 key issues in women's health: Maternal and child health; Intimate Partner Violence; and Environmental Health and Justice and highlight current and future opportunities for prevention and intervention in urban settings in clinical practice and public health initiatives. The session took place on April 8, 2010 and was part of the 18th International Congress on Women's Health Issues: Cities and Women's Health: Global Perspectives.
