Classic Blue Mountains mountain bike ride along Narrowneck fire trail in Katoomba (one way). Fabulous views. Highly recommended.

Did I mention the views? You'll see the Landslide, Narrow Neck, the Ruined Castle, the Three Sisters (if you look from the right spot near the gate), Jamison and Megalong Valleys, Kings Tableland, Southern Highlands, Mt Solitary, Kanangra Walls, Lake Burragorang (aka Sydney's water supply, Warragamba Dam), and more. On a clear day, and with good eyes, you can see the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Centrepoint Tower. This ride is hard physically thanks to the big hills, but isn't technically hard. Highly recommended.

  • I love riding this track. :D

  • @BeneathTheSmiles - it's always good

  • hey mate good on ya. I would love to try that one. How long is this track? and where do you start in the Blue Mountains?

  • @333mazer - Length depends on where you start - 36 km return to station, 20 km return from locked gate. I usually start from Katoomba railway station, but if you drive, you start from Glen Raphael Drive (which turns off Cliff Drive). There are a few spots in Glen Raphael Drive where you can park before the gate, which is about 3 kms after the turn off. I have a written review at my web site - whack a dot com after thefathippy.

  • hayy man how do ya get the head cam 2 stay so steady we used 1 the other day & it was all over the place ???

  • @asherm49 - When I'm using a helmet cam, I use a GoPro camera with their helmet mount, which has straps that go through the vents. I tighten the straps as much as I can, and I keep my helmet pretty tight. I also try and mount the cam in the middle of my helmet, so it doesn't want to fall forwards or back under its own weight. On some videos I use a stabilising filter in my editing software. BUT...

In this video, I'm using a GoPro chest harness, done up tight. No helmet cam.

  • grate ride smashed myself tho hahaha there werent no couch there the other day.... try the woodford 2 glenbrook peace out

  • @jackshittttttttttttt - hehe - BMX bikes? You blokes are hard. I have enough trouble with 27 gears. I reckon it takes about 2.5 -3 hours riding time (station to end and back), but I stop to enjoy the views and to breathe a bit, so actual time is longer
