The Coton de Tulear is in the "bichon" family. If anything, it looks like a Maltese and Bichon Frise. No resembles of a terrier or Shi zhu. There are 7 types of Bichons. 1. Maltese, 2. Bichon Frise, 3. Coton de Tulear, 4. Bolognese, 5. Havanese, 6. Löwchen and last but not least, 7. the Bolonka. The bichon type dogs are famous for being in the circus and being on ships to hunt down rats that were the cause of the Plague. Great dogs.

@LoveOlderWoman: They generally don't shed much... I recommend this breed and it's safe for ppl who have allergies. My dog is a coton de tulear and she's soooo cute her name is Twinkle.
