In Praise Of Airline Pilots. "United Airline Workers Of The World, Unite!" Originally heard on KPFK 90.7 FM Los Angeles, Pacifica Radio. The David Feldman Show. Download on iTunes.
About time someone other than airline pilots spoke the truth about the plight of people who hold your lives into their capable hands but get crapped on consistently by WS and their shills the "Con-serve-a-thieves"!
@Impertinent357 continued: the night and sleep in a two room apartment called a crash pad where there will up to 10 pilots sleeping on the floor and air matresses. If they cannot even afford that, some try to catch some sleep in the airport's pilot lounge. So yes, some are making $105,000+ but a lot are just above the poverty line.
@Impertinent357 Airline pilots can make $105,000 +, after around 25-30 years in the business though. The average annual salary of an airline pilot just starting out is around $20,000 - $25,000. This is less than many bus drivers make and it is a much larger responsibility. Along with the small pay checks, pilots may be on duty for 16 hours a day but only get paid for 5 or 6 hours. They only get paid when they are in the air. Fatigue is a huge factor and some pilots cannot even afford a hotel for
