skooterbud05, I completely disagree. I am still completely spellbound at Ian Tyson's amazing voice. Ian Tyson haven't lost his voice since Gordon Lightfoot almost lost his. You are such a huge disgrace to the fans of Ian Tyson, because he still sings so beautifully! I nearly was put into tears when not seeing and hearing them for years I was able to hear them for the first time! I missed them so much!
Through the grey fog bound strait. That would be Johnstone Strait and those tow boats that moved the wood south and those logging shows that overlooked "The Straits" would lose their crews every summer when those first sockeye started jumping. None of those guys could resist the call of the salmon season. I first fished the Straits in 1957. This tune always brings back the faces of friends from those days. The best BC tune ever written, and always will be.
@navigator1944 Yes, he's nailed BC culture of the 50's thru the 70's better than a book that was thousand pages long could ever do.

That is so lovely! Ian Tyson, along with his ex wife and Emmylou Harris are just irresistible! Beautiful job!
