Note: I made this video before Metal Gear Solid 4 was released, so I hadn't played it at the time. Because of that, it isn't completely up-to-date anymore and doesn't contain the additional information MGS4 provided. Most of it is still correct though, and it can still be of use for people who haven't played MGS4 yet and want to refresh their memory. Also because it doesn't contain any spoilers for MGS4.

I made the video on March 2008, with Final Cut Pro and PhotoShop. I made it mainly with the intention that people could refresh their memory before they played MGS4, and the video can still serve that purpose.

I made this video in which I explain a bit of the relations between some of the most important characters of the Metal Gear Solid storyline. It goes all the way from the father of The Boss (a Philosopher) to the (unborn) child of Raiden and Rose.

This tree represents the relations between the characters, whether they are bloodrelated or only in a symbolic way.

  • in mgs4 you forgot litle john

  • @osmanpbs No, I made this video before MGS4 came out, that's why he's not in there. But he is mentioned as the child of Raiden en Rose.

  • There is a one mistake. Originally there where only 2 clones of big boss and solidus was cloned later for the purpose of creating a figurehead image of the patriots

  • @saksari93 You're right, but this was revealed in MGS4, and I made this video before that game was out. The information was correct at the time. ;)

  • excelent video man. Though im not sure that i agree with the statement that both The Boss and Ocelot are unaware of this relationship. In the fight between Ocelot and Big Boss on the WIG Plane at the end of MGS3, Ocelot manages to hold his own against Big Boss and says ''I've picked up a few new moves''. This is important because the fighting style they are both employing is CQC, a style unique and devolped between The Boss and Big Boss. This bein the case- who taught Ocelot? Only the Boss could

  • @ghostlyredfox As far as I know, Ocelot learned those moves from Big Boss. Big Boss didn't teach him, but Ocelot observes him and mimics the moves. This is because he idolizes Big Boss, and probably also because he sees how powerful CQC can be (after all, in the beginning of the game, when he doesn't know any CQC moves he is being beaten by Big Boss).

grey fox from MG, not MGS, (MSX console, 80s) he was the friend of solid snake untill MG2 not MGS2 (also an MSX game) and after snake killed him, Dr.Clark(Para Medic from MGS4) revives him into a machine making him a robot. man I love this game. it's simply amazing, that's why MGS4 got 10/10 everywhere, screw uncharted, it don't deserve shit.
