We came across this ~2m black headed python today just out of Alpha, Queensland, Australia. As it's getting into winter he was very sluggish which gave us time to stop and take some video. We thought he was dead because he didn't move at all for the first couple of minutes. Beautiful snake, beautiful markings

  • Where was the Blackhead found? What part of australia? it's very dark.

  • Extremely dark, yeah. As the text says, it was about 90km North of Alpha, Queensland, which is about 170km West of the town of Emerald. One of my herpetologist friends thinks it might be about to shed, and that's why it's so dark. No idea if he's right or not.
