Traditional Vietnamese dance is an art form that is unique and very distinct. There are many different styles of dance across Vietnam. The difference stems principally from the style of songs, the various regions of Vietnam, and the various props used such as non la, flowers, or scarves. There is one type of dance that has made its way to North American soil and is widely recognized. This form of traditional dance is performed by women of all ages and emphasizes on the gracefulness and reserved characteristics of a typical Vietnamese woman. Movement of the feet is generally minimal but this style is known for its elegant extensions of the arms and beautiful flowing group formations. A traditional dance using the Vietnamese cone hat, non la, will be performed to a song sung by Nhu Quynh, Cho Nguoi.
