This is an early beta version of World Empires Live, a game released in January 2010. WEL is a Free online Strategy Game with both single player and multiplayer. The full game will be supported by matchmaking servers plus a site with rankings, leagues, forum etc.

Today WEL was updated to 1.04 and the new version include a instructive tutorial consisting of 19 missions.

I strongly recommend newcomers to the game to try the tutorial on the first run of the game.

Yes, there is both attack penalty (=defence bonus) shown with a "Sword minus" icon and there is mobile penalty (=cavalry) shown with a "horse minus" icon. Furthermore there is water penalty if attacking with land unit directly from a ship and there is a City Wall factor that can be brought down in order to reduce the defence bonus of City or Capital (Brick Wall icon)

Hello gamers, I just bought a subscription for World Empires Live (WEL). The game is a blast. It's fast paced but plays like a turn based, wild eh? the hexes are cool, I love the map.
