No, sorry it took me so long to reply, I am Canadian, spent time in Thailand teaching and crossed into Myanmmar via Tachilek, and returned to Thailand via Mae Sai. It is terrible that the Karen are persecuted in Myanmar, much like the Humong of Laos and Vietman
