Who the hell did Hughie Green think he was telling the UK what to do? He was Canadian. Twat

Intensely reactionary garbage, it's no surprise that Thames pulled his show for this. Who did he think he was, the "General Pinochet of light entertainment"?

@TheMasterNo6 He was well known as a insincere slimey cunt in spite of your views about today and cared about HIS career
-
@TheKenfig That is an absolutely sick idea. It sounds like something Chris Morris would have dreamed up for Brass Eye!
-
Was Neil Innes's 'Lie Down & Be Counted' a response to this? It mentioned Stars On Sunday, which was produced by Green's rival, Jess Yates?
-
@200pharaohs Actually, when you see the pictures of the real Evita, she DID look like Paula Yates!
-
@Glenn1967ful Kim Jong-Il also comes to mind; it's not as catchy as 'I'm so Ronery'!

The downfall of Hughie only reiterates the hypocrasy of tv. The producers etc where far from perfect themselves - still are the same. So what if he made this commentary, he was simply telling the nation to get off their arses and work hard and be proud as a nation. Perhaps we need more of that now as the nations broken and fucked - the riots last summer proved that for one. So what if he was a arse, he was great with contestants and cared about them.

I'd loved to have fucked those two dolly birds with Hughie in that pic....fuck them senseless til their hairy 1970s fannies were sore.

@spursloyal71 Look Green was a cunt, THAT'S my point ; he would hang anyone to get publicity and more money
-
@TheKenfig Bring back hanging for nonces ??? and what is wrong with that exactly???

Well, spouting this sort of bilge, he ought to have been!

There are rumours he was part of a right wing conspiracy to mount a military coup during the strike chaos of the 1970s. He was in line to front the TV propaganda. His show was ended 'cos he began to politicise it with his right wing views.
