Chasing a Boss 302 in my Mustang with the Roush Trak Pak upgrades. Some times you have to know your limitations and not go into a turn that hot.

  • looked like he just spun didnt look like he crashed

  • @Warthog32695

    Correct ... just a spin

  • I let some spec Miatas pass me on track ... even a Honda on that same spot. This is just an unfortunate incident. I spun my car at Summit Point two years ago because I was over-driving my car. I was chasing a Spec Miata and could not believe he was "faster" than me. But I remembered what the instructors always say .. in a spin both feet in. I was lucky not to leave the track. Its not about HP it is about driving.

  • Here is a quote from an instructor that was there and saw it real time "He didn't get back to the left for the correct line entering the corner, carried way to much speed into it and then over drove it! Classic case of "look at me...mine's bigger than yours!"...than went all wrong!

  • Not upset at all. I feel for the guy that crashed his car. Just a lesson for the driver of the Boss ... a point by is not an order to pass. With 2 miles of straights there were plenty of places for him to get by if he had the faster car.

  • I did lift. I am also running almost 100 HP less than the Boss. With that kind of HP difference it should have been a clean pass. The Boss should have nailed his brakes instead of trail braking. At our level trail braking is not something that should be done.

The Boss also broke one of the main rules. Once off the track, stay off the track and come to a controlled stop. Also at Pocono ... With 2 miles of straights... If you can get a clean pass done with this track running a 100 HP m

  • classic example of understeer.

  • I was there that weekend, but didn't get to see what happened to that BOSS. I just saw all the dirt on it back in the pits. When doing a late pass going into that corner, you have to slow down more than usual. He probably also had the stability control completely turned off.

  • You would have been fine if you didnt swing wide into the grass

  • @Warthog32695 I was there as well. Nice enough guy. I know i have made the mistake of not using best judgement, and have off a car. Didn't do it that day with the Shelby, but I have done it. Sometimes you push too hard.

  • Looked like you didn't lift and tagged the brakes at the first marker and he flew by.. just sayin. dont get all upset. Cant really tell too well from the video anyway i was just making an observation a car thats up 125hp should pass easily.
