What are the elements of the libertarian movement and how does one of its most illustrious proponents, Milton Friedman, apply its tenets to issues facing the United States today? Milton Friedman, Senior Research Fellow, Hoover Inst., Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences discusses how he balances the libertarians' desire for a small, less intrusive government with environmental, public safety, food and drug administration, and other issues.

This is a 4 part video. Here are the links to all 4 parts.

Milton Friedman, recipient of the 1976 Nobel Memorial Prize for economic science, was a senior research fellow at the Hoover Institution from 1977 to 2006. He passed away on Nov. 16, 2006. He was also the Paul Snowden Russell Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Chicago, where he taught from 1946 to 1976, and a member of the research staff of the National Bureau of Economic Research from 1937 to 1981.

Recorded February 10, 1999. Please see the end of Part 4 for all of the credit and ownership information. I am posting this video to further spread the Ideas and knowledge of Milton Friedman. It is only through implementing his ideas that we will preserve that which the founding fathers established.

  • I wan't to fucking cuddle Milton Friedman.

  • Watch the vid I'm going to upload

  • I love his watch.

  • @GAAwudu Yeah...I'd tap out, too.

  • @GAAwudu If you were careful to read what I said, you wouldn't look silly. 47% of Americans did not pay FEDERAL INCOME TAXES. The stats are from the IRS...not Fox news. So it's not a lie. You just refuse to accept FACT. Tell me if someone "pays" $4000 U.S. dollars to the FED GOV and the FED GOV sends back $8000. Tell me, how much did the 4k they MADE, counter any SALES taxes they paid?

This is not an agree or disagree subject. I'm 100% right.

  • @evolutionist101 You've been watching too much FOX SPEWS. Just because people pay no FEDERAL income tax, does that mean they pay no taxes at all? Saying '...they are not paying taxes' is a lie. Point blank. If you build your argument on a lie forgive me if I assign your conclusion to the trash heap. You should be PROUD you have the 'richest poor people'. That's a good thing. I agree with your last argument but there must be a better solution than, what, leave them homeless?

  • @GAAwudu 2/2 As I have stated before, 47% of American Households don't pay FED Income Taxes. If they are not paying taxes, how are their freedoms being taken form them? They get ALL social services for FREE. 53% of American Households pay the most. Where is their justice?

And BTW. We have the richest "poor" people anywhere in the world. Big screen TV's, free cable...free housing...the reason they live in a dump is because if it's given to you...no incentive to clean it.

  • @GAAwudu Here's the deal. The U.S. has a Constitution. It is the Law of the Land. The FED GOV have 18 enumerated powers. (look up Powers of Congress, Article 1, Section 8) In those powers listed certain types of roads are a function of the FED GOV. Obviously, we must pay taxes in order to have basic function of government. If the power isn't listed, the FED GOV has no power. It will then defer to the State as a power.

    1/2 Cont..

  • @GAAwudu A rich society supplies me a job. My first and job is to take care of my family interests. Once I have secured my family interests. I have no problems donating money to charity. I've done it quite often. However, I am NOT entitled to a job nor the means to aquire. As long as no laws are broken or liberty is taken from me by government.

  • @evolutionist101 Look, I don't want this conversation to degenerate. I have moved considerable toward libertarianism in the last 12 months. However not all of it makes sense. Would you really want all roads to be toll roads? Would you really want to pay for police protection? Don't you see the conflict of interest inherent in your system and how it leads to a REDUCTION in freedom for most people? Who pays the most wins? That means most people will be 'FREE' to live a dreadful life.
