  • thank you for your concerns tfstopburningnow* i guess your name corresponds with your comment. but non the less with your concerns i decided to do a little research and discovered a report by the EPA suggesting if you are able to maintain a high temperature fire with other controlled variables you will be able to reduce particles put into the air as well as releasing the greatest amount of potential energy from the wood.

  • Already, advanced wood combustion is powering a U.S. college and cities across Europe, such as Joensuu, Finland. Joensuus air quality has improved greatly, said city resident Antti Asikainen, a forestry expert at the Finnish Forest Research Institute. Its a really clean technology. The city of roughly 58,000 is heated with a wood and peat mixture, which has replaced small oil burners—theyre the worst generators of pollution, Asikainen said.

  • anybody else mesmerized by the haircut the entire time?

  • I keep going back and watching this over and over, because the workmanship is at such a high level of master detail. Like watching construction porn. :)))))))) Yeah i said it and it's not politically correct, but damn, it's a work of art.

  • You are so right about the circulating pumps being inside just in case you need to replace one in bad weather. In the 80s we had to change an outside pump at 3:00am and it was nine below zero Fahrenheit.

    NOT TOO GOOD!!!

  • This is great work, my kind of solution!

  • i wondered where dan akroyd ended up! now i know- nice job on your heater man- you did great!

  • You did an amazing job figuring out how all of this could work. total kudos to you.

We are thinking about putting together something like this but we have a few questions.

What type of blower motor do you have through the fire box and or how many CFM's it is?

Are you worried at all about collecting creosote in the exshaust heat exchanger box? Do you have a plan for cleaning the "chimney"?

Looking forward to hearing from you

  • Outstanding setup!

  • You were very thorough in explaining and it will probably spark a few more diy ers to get on board with alternative heating. Good job!

  • Nice hair, dude!

  • Great video man, Great details, I have to ask, just how much wood you go thought in a month, when its winter, and Your heat exchanger /radiator, is it homemade as well, i have a furnace i want to put this system in, but have no idea of what the heat exchanger looks like and etc, can you email me a few details on it or a link to one?
